held last year with Dali Graham last year that I would hold one too.
Well I've arranged it for Thursday 5th April and we will be making a
glass plate similar, but not exactly the same, to the one Dali made. You

along below. We've also booked more Indian Embroidery with Mali,
starting with Kantha. Look out for more soon.
off to my trade show on Sunday, so not much new stock to share with you

Tantalising Textiles Competition
Tantalising Textiles is Craft Arena's annual customer competion. The main theme of this year's Tantalising Textiles is Metamorphosis.The
exhibition will be held in the Alchemy Gallery at Craft Arena from
Sunday 1st April until Sunday 29th April 2018. The entry fee for each
entry will be £5 and you can submit as many entries as you wish.Customers of Craft Arena will be asked to vote for their favourite piece, and the winnerwill receive a Craft Arena Gift Voucher, with another voucher going to the winner of our
voters draw. We will again be supporting St Luke's Hospice who will receive a proportion of the money raised by the fees. The application form is available here and you can read more details about the competition on my blog.

PE Design Software Training for Beginners

Sunday 18th February 10.30am - 1.00pm £30
you are new to designing for your embroidery machine, or you need a
refresher, this training is for you. Lisa will take you through the
first steps of using Brother computer software to create your own
designs. Just bring a pen and paper to take notes! This class is for
complete beginners, or those wishing to review their skills.
Yarn Forward knitting and crochet group returns after it's winter
break, with a yarn scrummage. Come and join us and you will go away with
lots of free yarn! You can also knit, crochet, ask questions and show
what you have been up to since our last meeting.
Saturday 24th February 2018 10.30am - 4.00pm £65 per person
you have not used this unique medium before, you are in for a treat!
This workshop will allow you to create beautiful fabric works of art in a
variety of colours and take your skills forward. You will use fabric,
inclusions, paint and Powertex to make a textured panel. All materials
are included in this workshop, but please feel free to bring your own
embellishments to add to your work. This workshop is suitable for
series of informal monthly sessions to help you get the most from your
embroidery machine. A different machine embroidery technique will be
covered each month. This month we will be covering positioning and hoop
sizes. Bring along any challenges or questions and there will be someone
here to answer them. We would love to see your work, so bring that

Saturday 10th March 2018 10.30am - 4.00pm £65 per person
known as paint pouring, flow art or liquid art, fluid art is a form of
abstract art that uses acrylic paints with a runny (fluid) consistency.
The acrylic paints react with each other when combined together with
silicon to make interesting and visually organic motifs. Fluid acrylics
can be used on many types of substrates and in many different forms such
as pouring, dripping, swirling, glazing, dipping and many other
effects. It opens up a lot of possibilities and is definitely worth
exploring and adding to your artist tool belt. In this class Emma will
teach you the basics you will need to become a paint pouring artist.
Wednesday/Thursday 14th/15th March 2018 10.30am - 4.00pm £120 per person
Applique linen panel
two day intensive course creating a beautiful contemporary panel
incorporating a multitude of techniques to include colour, design,
perspective and composition, image transfer, 3-d structural applique,
stitch textures and thread painting. You will be taken step by step and
rewarded with the completion of your embroidered and embellished wall
hanging. An ideal course for beginners and for those wishing to build
on their free machine embroidery experience. Materials included.
Sue for her latest crochet project for those who have learnt the
basics. You will be helped to gain confidence with pattern-reading
skills as well as learning new stitches and techniques to make a
patchwork cushion which could be expanded to make this beautiful
blanket. You will be able to join us at any stage of this series of
classes as long as you are familiar with basic crochet stitches. If you
are a newcomer to crochet, ask about our beginners class.
Sunday 18th March 2018 10.30am - 4.00pm £65 per person
edible jelly! Find out how to use a Gelli Plate to make monoprint on
paper and fabric using masks, blocks and stamps as well as making your
own marks. You will create beautiful printed backgrounds which can be
used in further work, including future workshops with Denise, when we
will be using them with embroidery and collage.
Saturday 31st March 2018 10.30am - 4.00pm £65 per person
workshop will allow you to create beautiful mixed media vessels in a
variety of colours and shapes and will take your skills with this
versatile medium forward. You will use fabric, inclusions, paint and
Powertex to make at least two vessels. All materials are included in
this workshop, but please feel free to bring your own embellishments to
add to your work. This workshop is suitable for those who have played
with Powertex before.
Thursday 5th April 2018 10.30am - 1.00pm £50 per person
rice paper and various mixed media techniques, Denise will show you how
to decorate a glass plate. Our Christmas design is shown, but you will
have a choice of different papers to use as the basis of your design.
